I started in the title business in 1973 as a property inspector in suburban Chicago. I purchased this company in 2002. In between I’ve done or supervised just about every job in this business from messenger to Regional Executive in charge of nine states and 1000 employees. I truly am thankful for the opportunity to build a title company that reflects my own values and expectations for service and commitment to clients that were honed over 30 years of industry experience.
I’m an avid sports fan. The best sports teams put their players in the best position to be successful. That’s how I view my job. I’ve organized our company so that each of us has the most opportunity to immediately help our client. Our people respond to and grow with responsibility. Our people really do care about meeting our client’s needs. They are among the best of many thousands with whom I’ve worked.
I am a Bloomington native. I began my title industry career in Sales and Marketing with John Bethell Title Company, Inc. in 2004. My professional career began in 1995 as a loan officer. The decision to be part of a locally owned company is driven strongly by my desire to be a part of a growing company with the opportunity to contribute to and be a part of its success.
My responsibilities for sales and marketing allow me to always be available for special instructions or feedback about your transaction as well as continually researching different means to educate our clients. I am active with local network groups and professional organizations. I assist the closing team during busy times at our downtown office.
I enjoy new experiences with my two daughters through their activities and interest. Being involved in the community professionally and personally helps me maintain strong relationships with clients and to better understand them and their unique needs.
I began my career in the real estate industry in 2002 as a mortgage loan originator and processor. I joined John Bethell Title Company, Inc. in May 2006 as a closing processor. My previous experience and my ability to problem solve accurately allowed me to efficiently help our clients in many situations. I became a closing officer later in 2006.
My knowledge of both title examining and closing procedures is a valuable asset to our clients. I work closely with our title department and closing department on a daily basis. This helps me ensure our customer’s expectations met and that potential problems are anticipated and addressed before they affect the closing.
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and children who are involved locally with little league sports, tap dance and gymnastics.
I started with John Bethell Title Co. in March, 2005 as a title assistant. I rapidly progressed to my current position of Closing Officer. Prior to joining John Bethell Title Company, Inc., I worked for mortgage companies in California and Indiana and also an Indiana law firm. This variety of experience allows me to stay calm under the pressure of last minute details of closings and to assist in exploring every option to get the job done correctly and efficiently.
I enjoy cooking vegetarian fare, and shopping at the local farmer’s market, and traveling to National Parks with my boyfriend, Chris. My co-workers look forward to the homemade baked goods I bring in on their birthdays.
I joined John Bethell Title Company, Inc. over three years ago. I am now in my tenth year of work in this field. Besides my background in title insurance I have experience as a mortgage loan processor. I’m well organized and maintain a great attitude. This helps me provide excellent service to our clients. I started as a Pre-Closing Processor and I am really excited by my new responsibilities as a Real Estate Closer. I’ve lived in Bloomington for over twenty-five years. I love working in an industry that allows me to be a part of the community.
I am a native of Santa Fe, New Mexico and have been in Bloomington over ten years. I joined John Bethell Title Company as a part-time assistant in the spring of 2007. Since joining the company I’ve gained knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of real estate procedure. My eye for detail helps me to excel in my full-time position as Transaction Coordinator. I’m looking forward to pursing a long career in the title insurance industry.
I began in the title business in the early 1980’s. When I started, title commitments were typed on a typewriter, we prepared abstracts, delivered documents in person, and closings were conducted with checks or real money. So many things have changed. There are more rules and regulations every year. I keep on top of things so that I can answer all our client’s questions. I enjoy working hard to meet and exceed their expectations.
I’ve been married thirty-seven years; have two daughters, two sons-in-law and three grandsons, for which I am very thankful. I help my husband with our farm and look forward to playing cards the great senior citizens from my area.
I am a lifelong resident of Bloomington. I joined John Bethell Title Company, Inc. in 2007 as a Real Estate Closer and I am now the Title Services Coordinator. My experience in the closing department allows me to recognize early in the process when title issues may need attention prior to closing. Before working at John Bethell Title Company, Inc., I worked as a Buyer’s Agent/Realtor® for several Bloomington real estate companies. My 20 years of experience in real estate industry gives me the knowledge and experience from the Realtor’s® side of transactions and greatly assists me in anticipating the needs of our clients.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, taking walks with my dogs, Max and Emme, outdoor recreation and extensive travel.
I have been abstracting since 1993 and really enjoy the research associated with the title searching. Working through the courthouse records fulfills a need for history, albeit on a micro level. I have worked for John Bethell since he acquired to company and my role has expanded to title examination and commitment preparation. Gaining a more complete understanding of the title department, especially, title examination, has been a wonderful learning experience and different challenge than abstracting poses, making each day an exciting opportunity to serve our clients.
I’m a native of New Castle, Indiana, and have lived in Bloomington since 1980. I started with the John Bethell Title Company, Inc. in November of 1989, primarily doing title searching in Monroe, Brown, Owen, and Morgan counties. I also abstracted recorded documents for an in-house property records data base. In the mid-1990s I planned and implemented a conversion from a card index to an electronic database. This property records data base has expanded greatly over the years, and now includes images of all documents recorded since mid-1999, including plat maps and surveys. It is the largest and most comprehensive in Monroe County. Although I am primarily occupied with administering this data base, I also administer the company computer network and assist with solving day-to-day IT issues.
I started working for John Bethell Title Company, Inc. the end of August 2009 and have thoroughly enjoyed myself from the very first day. What a pleasure it is to work with an energetic and diverse group of individuals who enjoy their work, interacting with one another and their lives in general! As a member of the closing department, many of my duties are in the area of customer service. I also process title orders, close out the completed title files, greet clients, answer phones and just about any task that is required.
I have not worked long enough for John Bethell Title Company, Inc. to have my own biography, and thus I must borrow someone else’s. Born in 1732, I served with distinction in the French-Indian War, before being selected to lead the colonial army in the American Revolution. From 1789 to 1797, I served as the first president of the United States. A popular legend recounts that when accused of chopping down my father’s cherry tree, I responded, “I cannot tell a lie. I did it with my little hatchet,” but I can neither confirm nor deny this story.
